Aqua Exercise & Watsu
Aqua Exercise
Water exercise, also known as aqua exercise or water aerobics, is a popular form of aerobic and resistance training that offers numerous benefits. The buoyancy of water significantly reduces the strain on joints and spine, minimising the risk of injury and making it an excellent option for those with existing conditions. This low-impact yet effective workout is performed in a warm, magnesium-salt-infused Watsu pool, allowing participants to experience a thorough workout without feeling overexerted. Regular water exercise can enhance cardiovascular fitness by improving heart and lung function, while the natural resistance of water helps build and tone muscles throughout the body.

Watsu
Watsu, short for Water Shiatsu, is a specialised form of aquatic bodywork therapy conducted in a purpose-built warm magnesium salted pool maintained at 35°C. This gentle yet powerful therapy combines massage, joint mobilisation, shiatsu, and muscle stretching. The water's buoyancy creates a state of relative weightlessness, taking pressure off the vertebrae and allowing for unique spinal movements not possible on land. Therapists use gradual twists and pulls to alleviate spinal rigidity and reduce pressure on spinal nerves. Watsu induces relaxation, facilitating the release of stress and tension while improving mobility and flexibility. This therapy is beneficial for those with chronic pain syndromes, offering a holistic approach to physical and mental well-being.
